Another initiative like the government wiki as mentioned in the previous post, this one is by a Pune based NGO called Citizen's Empowerment Forum.
One of the most powerful feature of their 'ourpune.com' website is where citizens can post their complaints ("observations", as they call them), especially with respect to roads and water, get a tracking number, get the concerned official's contact number so you can make his life miserable till he fixes your problem.
At the rate at which the city's problems are growing, I only hope the site isn't flooded with 'observations' that end up in a DOS attack!

Wow this is an interesting initiative! Cant imagine the PMC contractors and engineers giving out their MOBILE numbers to all and sundry! now it just remains to be seen how many of these 'observations' they actually heed. such officials usually master the art of ignoring phone calls. they certainly master the art of avoiding pesky journalists like me!
